Das Tool "Fiddler" von Telerik ist ein sehr hilfreiches Tool, gerade auch im Zusammenhang mit .net-Software-Entwicklung, beispielsweise im Zusammenhang mit dem ERP-System "Sage 100".

"Fiddler" ist ein sehr gutes, kostenloses Tool von Telerik, mit dem ein Monitoring von "Web"-Traffic auf einer Maschine möglich ist.

Im Zusammenhang mit .net-Programmen zum Ansprechen des Sage ERP Applikationsservers kann damit beispielsweise die Kommunikation zwischen Client und Applikationsserver im Detail geprüft werden (URL-Calls/Paket-Aufbau und -Inhalt etc.).

Dies ist insbesondere für Fehlerdiagnosen nützlich, oder um zu schauen, welche Bereiche Sage genau im Sage Applikationsserver abfragt, wenn z.B. AppDesigner-Elemente verwendet oder sonstige Sage Applikationsserver calls ausgelöst werden.

Nach der Installation sollte man das Decoding von verschlüsselten Verbindungen (https-Verbindungen) aktivieren.

Schalter bei "Capture HTTPS CONNECTs" und "Decrypt HTTPS traffic" aktivieren und dem (einmaligen) Einrichten eines Zertifikats auf der Maschine von Fiddler zustimmen.

Fehlermeldung beim Start von "Fiddler":

In der Konsequenz sind diverse Überwachungen der Kommunikation auf der Maschine mit "Fiddler" nicht möglich.

Die Ursache für diese Meldung ist i.d.R., dass der Windows Dienst "WinHTTP-Web Proxy Auto-Discovery-Dienst" ("WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service") auf der Maschine nicht aktiviert ist.

Dieser Service hat die Id "WinHttpAutoProxySvc".

Dieser Dienst muss vor der Ausführung von Fiddler gestartet sein!

Sollte sich der Dienst auf der Maschine wider Erwarten nicht starten lassen (Startoptionen ausgegraut), dann in der Windows Registry folgende Option aktivieren:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\WinHttpAutoProxySvc

Die Option "Start" z.B. auf "2" setzen (automatischer Start).

Wichtig: Nach dieser Änderung der Registry muss die Maschine neu gestartet werden!

Error message when starting "Fiddler":
