Hintergrund

Meldung.

English

Background

When calling an add-on , where calls still partly need to be routed via MS Access add-ins , the following MS Access error message appears:

You entered the expression On Timer as the event property setting. This expression has caused an error: Out of stack space.

The behaviour was different , depending on how the add-on was called.

  • During the "normal" start of the Sage ERP system (using "OLStart.exe") , this message appears when calling the add-on.

  • If the developer version of the MS Access front end , the Accdb , is called directly , then everything works without any errors.

  • If the compiled version of the MS Access front end , the Accde , is called , then MS Access crashes when calling the form with the aforementioned message.

  • The Sage trace log provided no information.

  • The memory expansion within the Sage administrator tool did not help.

  • The behaviour also occurs with the form's "Form_Open"-event source code commented out.

Cause / Solution

To solve the problem , the "Bound" property of the form had to be changed from "Yes" to "No".

A form binding led to the aforementioned message exclusively at runtime in compiled versions of the MS Access front end.
